A versatile singer who loves connecting with audiences through jazz.
I’ve been singing professionally for around 20 years – unless you count my first paid wedding gigs as a 10-year-old chorister at £5 a pop! (A fortune to little Jenny.)
After earning a First Class Honours degree in Music at the University of Southampton, I initially played it safe, training as a full-time secondary classroom teacher. Whilst I enjoyed aspects of teaching, I found myself missing music and singing incredibly. Envying the exciting musical plans my students were making made me realise it was time to take the leap and pursue a freelance music career of my own.
That singing is truly a vocation, not just a job, became crystal clear during the Covid lockdown. With no performances, no fellow musicians, and no audience, I felt a significant part of myself was missing. Thankfully, that’s all in the past!
Formally trained since 14 (with a Diploma in Singing Performance, ABRSM), I’ve long struggled to put myself musically into a box. I had little exposure to jazz at school but over the last decade, jazz singing has become a vital part of my musical life. This happy contrast has therefore given me the pleasure of performing as a choral singer in some of the UK’s most beautiful cathedrals (e.g. St Paul’s, Canterbury, St Martin-in-the-Fields, Westminster & Bath Abbeys) and as a soprano “dep” at Eton College – as well as self-learning the ropes on the UK jazz scene and the wonderful freedom jazz and improvisation bring. I love both art forms, and what I’ve learned in one continues to feed into the other.
Through my work at Finchcocks, I have the immense joy of singing with some of the UK’s top classical pianists during Saturday recitals to guests. Graham Fitch, Ophelia Gordon, Daniel Grimwood, David Hall, Warren Mailley-Smith, Florian Mitrea and Pavel Timofeyevksy have all generously included me in their programme as a supplement to their own jaw-dropping solo repertoire. There have definitely been “pinch me” moments along the way!
My love of singing with piano extends to jazz also. A naturally collaborative and social art form, I have met and performed with many amazing musicians on the circuit, including Rob Barron, John Harriman (Heads South), Alex Ho, Iain Rae (Hard lines) and Harry Whitty.
For me, musical success is connection: moving an audience emotionally, collaborating with musicians I admire, and continually exploring my own craft. Regardless of musical genre, every performance is an opportunity to share music and connect with people.

Self-promotion isn’t easy, but over the years others have kindly told me I offer the following:
“She has a stunning voice that filled the room with warmth, and she brought such a natural ease to the evening that our guests instantly connected with her.”
Cornel Perolls, General Manager at Hospices of Hope

“Jennifer was an absolute joy at the Tunbridge Wells Business Awards 2025. She has a stunning voice that filled the room with warmth, and she brought such a natural ease to the evening that our guests instantly connected with her. Every song felt thoughtful and beautifully delivered, and she lifted the atmosphere in a way that made the night feel even more special. She was a dream to work with too - friendly, professional and genuinely lovely. I am so grateful she was part of the evening.”

Atmosphere-shaping live singing – warm, elegant and emotionally engaging.
Providing feature performances for events is where the magic’s at. Be it pre- or post-dinner entertainment, a summer afternoon festival, or an intimate salon concert in a stately manor, I love to tell story through song – connecting with the audience emotionally and lifting them out of the “every day” on a brief musical journey.
I’ve performed feature entertainment for dinner guests at London venues such as the Bloomsbury Hotel and Lansdowne Club, during the signing of the register across the Roman Baths in Bath, at established venues and events such as the Grapevine Jazz lounges in Rye and Tenterden and the International Composers’, Rye Jazz & Blues, Pantiles Jazz, and Finchcocks festivals.
Tailored to your event, I choose repertoire that suits the moment, the people, event flow and the space – and make sure the sound equipment matches accordingly!
I can also provide all the paperwork you or your venue desires: PLI and PAT certificates, risk assessment and method statement. I’ll stop short of your shopping list!
