This weekend took the Oriana Singers up to London to sing evensong at Southwark Cathedral. It’s been a while since I sang with the choir and I was really looking forward to joining them in such a beautiful setting. Out of the music chosen for the service my favourite was definitely Tallis’ ‘O sacrum convivium’, a setting of Thomas Aquinas’ text of the Blessed Sacrament. It is usually sung as part of the Holy Communion but as it was the Feast Day of St. Aquinas, we chose this as our anthem. If you haven’t heard it, it’s well worth a listen!
