I’m always stumped for an answer when asked this! Obviously I love listening to music. But my tastes are really broad and my track of the week changes… daily!
I do remember when I was young though, and I didn’t know where to begin my musical exploration. I wanted to listen to music, but didn’t know what I liked or how to go about finding it. Obviously this was pre-Youtube and music streaming days. My only music sources were my parents’ collection, the radio or a trip down to the music shop where I felt immensely self-conscious!
Some people tell me they don’t get on with jazz. But, like every label, it’s a broad brushstroke for a multi-faceted genre. With that in mind, I thought it a nice idea to put together a playlist of some of my favourite singers, songs which have influenced me – and ones which often get people smiling at gigs. Here is Blues, Skylights and Jazz Nights especially for the jazz curious, jazz lovers and those looking for a little inspiration in their own listening!
