“Just stream something. It’ll be fine…”
7 benefits of hiring a live musician for your event

#AwkwardSilence
That chasm of quiet at the beginning of an event: Two guests are huddled in one corner whispering and another across the room is pretending to be on a Very Important Phone Call.
Live music fills the gap – conversationally – and provides focus or distraction until more people arrive.

Vibes
Sometimes it takes people time to warm up. Depending on how well people know each other, they can be awkward beings at times!
Music (and a glass of something) can help get the vibes going. As can some “bants” with the entertainer!

Tone deaf
Ever had to dash to change the music in a panic? Maybe your playlist shuffled onto Rage Against the Machine’s Killing in the Name at your gran’s 80th birthday tea or, less dramatically, the dance floor had gotten going and a slow ballad was scheduled next?
Musicians read the room. They adapt accordingly and nudge the emotion where it needs to go.
A couple finally takes to the dance floor only to look disappointed “their song” is nearly finished. The musician will extend the song or slot in a similar vibe straight after.
Late bride? The musican will fill the excruciating gap and lighten the mood for the sweating fiancé(e).

Meh
Ever been to an event which had everything going for it on paper, but just felt a bit flat?
A feature performance provides structure to the flow of a day and gives a sense of occasion: “Here, I booked a live musician – just for you!”

Too emotional
Sometimes feelings run high – happy or sad – and pressure to keep things on track emotionally is stressful.
A professional live musician can add the formality that gets you through – be it leading congregational singing at a wedding or ceremony of life, or as a solo distraction in a moment of contemplation.

(Un)forgettable
With all the effort that goes into the planning, it’s a shame when an event whizzes by in a flash – with just a blur for a memory!
Live music creates a focal point and special shared memory that people can discuss well after the occasion.

Haven’t a clue
You love music. Perhaps you don’t, but know others do! You have no clue what to play, when, for how long and during which part of your event.
A live musician knows and can take that job off your hands (unless you want input).

“We hired Jen for a networking event we hold every quarter and she was impeccable. Jen played and sang during our guest arrival and she created the most beautiful atmosphere to kick-start our evening. Highly recommend.” ~ Loch Associates
